FAQ

Questions, answered

What is FoodVIP?

FoodVIP is a weekly restaurant show. Each episode covers one city in about a minute: a restaurant that just opened, one building buzz, and one the paper trail says is coming soon.

Which cities does FoodVIP cover?

New York, Los Angeles, Miami and London. New York episodes come out on Monday, Los Angeles on Tuesday, Miami on Wednesday and London on Thursday.

How do you know what is coming soon?

From public records and announcements: liquor and premises licence applications, building permits, community board agendas and what the restaurants themselves announce. Every Coming soon pick links to its source.

Do restaurants pay to be on FoodVIP?

No. Restaurants are chosen by the show. If a segment is ever sponsored, the episode and its page say so clearly.

How does My List work?

Tap the heart to save a restaurant and tick Been here when you go. Your list, your VIP pass and the episodes you have watched are kept in this browser only. Nothing is sent to us and no account is needed.

Are the hosts real people?

No. All eight hosts, two for each city, are AI-generated characters with synthetic faces and voices. The restaurants, dates and sources are real and checked before every episode.
